Quarterly Newšletter, 4th Edition
Welcome to our last newsletter of the year. During
the months of October and November workshops
were held to introduce our “CLC Sustainability Programme”
. The workshops were the first time for
many of the Community Learning Centres (CLC’s) to
meet with each other and share experiences which
proved to be a very valuable and energizing experience.
Hopefully we will be able to give you an update
on our first CLC sustainability project in our next
Newsletter!
Myself and Naus Kamal, the Foundation’s Project
Coordinator, visited the Health Clinic at Tsak village
from which the freshly launched second Mobile Clinic
will be operating a health outreach programme. The
health clinic was established just over 1 year ago
and provides free medical services to a population of
40,000 people living in this rugged area.
Another milestone is the completion of the first kit
structure double classroom. Another two double
classroom projects will start construction shortly with
our aim to have 6 double classroom projects completed
by the end of March 2010.
To top it all off the month of December has been
busy with Digicel staff Christmas visits to more than
1,000 vulnerable children from our CLC’s across the
country!
Last but not least I’d like to take this opportunity to
thank our partners and stakeholders for their continued
support and wish you all a Merry Christmas and
a very happy and healthy 2010!
